The Anchorage Petroleum Women's Association hosted its bi-annual Welcome Social at The Lakefront Anchorage on September 28th from 5:30-8:30PM. Over 60 APWA members, spouses, potential members, and community partners attended this event.
APWA Welcome Social events are held twice a year--in the fall and the spring--to provide the Anchorage community with more information about the organization and ways to get involved. Be on the lookout for our upcoming Spring Welcome Social, which will be held in March 2019.

In 2018, the Anchorage Petroleum Women's Association will celebrate our 60th anniversary. Check out our Our Story page to learn more about our origins and how we have changed over the years. Then, review the November 16, 2017 Alaska Business article about us from here, which announces this anniversary with the public.
Effective June 1, 2017, the Anchorage Petroleum Wives Club will be known as "Anchorage Petroleum Women's Association." Our associated 501(c)3 organization, the Anchorage Petroleum Wives Foundation, will now be known as the "Anchorage Petroleum Women's Foundation."
At the April 26, 2017 APWC luncheon, the membership unanimously voted to rename the organization to the Anchorage Petroleum Women’s Association. The 2016-2017 Board of Directors will collaborate with the 2017-2018 Board of Directors to facilitate this name change process during this upcoming summer. Please be advised that, starting June 1, communication from this organization will be under the name Anchorage Petroleum Women’s Association. Although our name has changed, our mission has not. Under our new name, the Anchorage Petroleum Women’s Association will continue our mission of providing Anchorage-area women with opportunities for social contact, community involvement, and personal development. |
