The Anchorage Petroleum Women’s Association is proud to announce our partnership with Alaska Youth Orchestra as our 2021-2022 Non-Profit Partner.
"Building a Community Where Music Education and Performance Are Valued and Shared" From June 2021 through May 2022, APWA members will work to support Alaska Youth Orchestra (AYO) through volunteerism, fundraising activities, and by supporting the promotion of their mission. AYO is a non-profit organization teaching Alaska’s youth responsibility, commitment, self-confidence, discipline and teamwork through music education and performance.
AYO has proudly offered a one of a kind experience, drawing dedicated musicians from as far away as Homer, Kodiak, and the Upper Mat-Su Valley for the past 56+ years. The Anchorage Youth Symphony performs regularly in the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts as a resident company.”
Funds raised by Anchorage Petroleum Women's Foundation in 2021-2022 will be presented to AYO in May of 2022, and will be used to help AYO realize their mission to "build musicianship, inspire our youth to love music, offer enriching opportunities for music performance, and create a musical legacy that will sustain arts throughout the lives of our members and our communities". APWA funds will be used for core program expenses, including the ability to reduce program fees for participants, provide scholarships for low income participants, and to support both education and performance expenses. Interested in learning more about how you can help? The Anchorage Petroleum Women’s Association is an all-volunteer organization, and we need the support of our members and community partners to fulfill our mission of giving back to our local community.

Our Special Projects Committee is planning our fundraising event for the spring of 2022, as well as some smaller fundraisers, and we are always looking for people to join. Contact Kirsten Tschofen at [email protected] for more information.
