Chugach Park Fund Our 2020-2021 Non-Profit Partner
We are proud to announce that our membership has selected Chugach Park Fund (CPF) as our 2020-2021 Non-Profit Partner. The Chugach Park Fund was established in 2017 to enable Alaskans of all abilities to experience the beauty of Chugach State Park by enhancing trails and facilities.
From June 2020 through May 2021, APWA members will work to support Chugach Park Fund through volunteerism, fundraising activities, and by supporting promotion of their mission.
The Chugach Park Fund is established to enable Alaskans to enjoy the beauty of Chugach State Park by enhancing trails and providing upgrades to the park for increased access and enjoyment. Since its establishment, the CPF has contributed to the reroute of the “Middle Fork Trail” in the Glen Alps (2018) as well as the installation of a new interpretive sign at the Flattop Sunnyside Trailhead (2019). Work is well underway for the 2020 project: the rerouting of the Steep Gully Trail, often known as the “Ball Fields” and renamed “Little O’Malley Peak Trail”.
This year is the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of Chugach State Park, and what better way to celebrate than for APWA to partner with Chugach Park Fund to support their important work of improving access to all the park has to offer, while protecting and preserving the natural habitat.
